Questions
Does VatMainder file my VAT return?
No. It works out the figures and walks you through filing in your tax portal, step by step. You check them and submit the return yourself.
Is it a replacement for an accountant?
No. VatMainder keeps your records and does the maths, but it isn’t tax advice. For advice about your own situation, ask an accountant or your tax authority.
Where is my data kept?
Only on your phone. There is no account and no VatMainder server. If you turn on automatic backup, the file goes to your own iCloud Drive or Google Drive.
Which countries does it work in?
Finland, Sweden, Estonia, Germany and the United Kingdom have their VAT rates, filing periods and due dates built in. Anywhere else, you set your own rates. The income tax estimate uses Finland’s full tax rules; elsewhere it uses the rate you expect to pay.
Does reading receipts send them anywhere?
No. The text is read on your phone, with Apple Vision on iPhone and Google ML Kit on Android, both working offline.
How do I cancel Pro?
In your App Store or Google Play subscription settings, at least a day before the period ends. The lifetime plan is a one-off purchase with nothing to cancel.
