VatMainder Privacy Policy

VatMainder is a VAT and income tax tracker for sole traders, made by Binary Castle. This policy explains what happens to your information when you use the app. The short version: everything you add stays on your phone. VatMainder has no account, no servers and no analytics, and we never see your data.

What VatMainder stores, and where

VatMainder keeps the following only in the app's private storage on your phone:

• Your profile: name, business name, business or tax ID, country, type of work, VAT filing frequency and the tax figures you enter.
• Your invoices and receipts: amounts, VAT, dates, sellers, categories and notes, plus copies of the receipt photos and files you add.
• Your settings, filed VAT returns, reminders and the reports you save.

None of this is sent to us or to anyone else. On Android, VatMainder doesn't have permission to use the internet at all.

Camera, photos and files

VatMainder uses the camera only when you choose to scan a receipt, and opens photos or files only when you pick them or share them to VatMainder. The text on a receipt is read on your phone (with Apple Vision on iPhone and Google ML Kit on Android, both working offline).

Notifications

Reminders and summaries are scheduled on your phone by VatMainder itself. No push notification service is involved. You can turn each kind off in the app, or all of them in your phone's settings. On Android, VatMainder may ask for the "Alarms & reminders" permission so reminders arrive on time.

App lock

If you turn on the app lock, your phone checks your fingerprint, face or passcode. VatMainder only learns whether the check succeeded; it never receives or stores your biometric data.

Backups, reports and sharing

When you back up your data or export a report, VatMainder creates a file and opens your phone's share sheet. Where that file goes (your Files app, email or a cloud drive, say) is your choice, and that service's own privacy policy then applies.

If you turn on automatic backup (VatMainder Pro), VatMainder saves a backup file to a folder or file you choose, such as in iCloud Drive or Google Drive. Your phone or the Drive app uploads it to your own account. VatMainder doesn't send it anywhere itself and never sees it.

You can lock backups with a password. The key made from it stays on your phone and is never put in a backup. We can't recover a forgotten password, so a backup locked with one can't be opened without it.

What we don't do

• No account or sign-in.
• No advertising, tracking or analytics.
• No selling or sharing of data with third parties.

Deleting your data

Use Profile → Erase all data, or uninstall VatMainder. Either removes everything VatMainder stored on your phone. Backup files you saved elsewhere stay where you put them until you delete them.

Children

VatMainder is meant for adults running a business and isn't directed at children.

Changes

If this policy changes, we'll update the date above. When a change matters, the app asks you to agree again.
